⚠️The "Time Travel" Rule (International Dateline) When traveling from New Zealand or Australia to the Cook Islands, you will cross the International Dateline and go back one day. 
  • Pro Tip: Please double-check your flight itinerary and ensure your booking start date matches your landing date in Rarotonga so your villa is ready for your arrival!
​Kakera Booking Direct Payments
  • To confirm a booking at Kakera Villa Apartments:
  •  A 25% deposit is required when booking.
  • The remaining 75% balance is due 60 days prior to arrival.​ ​
Cancellation Policy
  • More than 60 days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee
  • Within 60 days of arrival: 100% cancellation fee
  • No show or early departure: No refunds
Check-In & Check-Out
  • As a provider of boutique holiday accommodation in Rarotonga, we maintain a few standard policies to ensure a smooth stay.
  • Minimum Stay - A standard 5-night minimum stay applies. This may vary in reservation gap situations or special offers.
  • Check-In: 1:30 PM
  • Check-Out: 10:00 AM
  • Early check-in or late check-out may be available by prior arrangement, subject to availability and an additional fee.​

​Each self-catering villa is designed as a private tropical retreat and includes:

  • High-quality bedding, bathroom linens, and beach towels.
  • Climate Comfort
  • Modern ceiling fans and air-conditioning in most apartments. Note: The 3-bedroom Fare Villa features traditional high ceilings designed for natural cross-breeze cooling and includes fans only.
  • Self-Catering Kitchen & Arrival Pack
  • Full kitchens include a complimentary starter pack with soap, tea, coffee, fresh water, milk, and juice.
  • Kitchen essentials such as salt, pepper, and mosquito coils are also provided.
  • Private Laundry - Each apartment includes laundry facilities with a starter pack of washing powder. (Karanga and Ra share a laundry.)

Accessibility
Due to the tropical villa design, including stairs and private plunge pools, we recommend guests be able-bodied for safety and comfort.

  • Kakera provides a simple online check-in form.
  • Key box entry details are emailed one week prior to arrival, along with directions to your villa apartment.
  • Standard Kakera terms and conditions apply to all stays.​

​Extended Stays & Long-Term Rentals
Looking for a longer tropical escape or seasonal retreat?
We welcome enquiries for extended stays of 3–4 months at Kakera Villa Apartments.
Long-term stays are arranged under a separate rental agreement. Please contact us directly for availability, rates, and details.
